The Republican People's Party in the process of transition to multi-party life (1945-1950)

The history of the party of Turkish Republican has established the inseperable and most important period of the Turkish political history. Especially both of the years of 1945 and 1950's had an importance both CHP and History of the democratical period of the Turkey. Establishing a multi partial system in Turkey, has been an primary goal of the ruler staff during the Second World War. As well as the effect of dynamics which came from the internal and extarnal, new politicial parties has taken their place in political life. Also in the same period CHP; which has been the party that taken rulership, has directed to new adaptable political systems with new regime which has taken in 1946's and 1947's suitable policies during the congress that has been assembled in. As for that the years of 1946 and 1947, choices that has been taken in these years congress; they changed their policies that suits previous years and seek the policies that adaptable with the new regime. İn 1948's and 1949's years also were the period which CHP's continuation of liberalization efforts and also was a period of the having a chance of development for the opposition. As a result of all these improvement; the election of 1950's was a milestone of the history of the Turkish democracy and for the first time a political party instead of CHP has taken rule. This was a beginning of new period of the Turkish political history with the succession due to the election of multi partial system.
