During the COVID-19 pandemic the challenges faced by classroom teachers

In this study, it is aimed to reveal the difficulties faced by classroom teachers in the covid-19 pandemic process. The problem sentence for which an answer is sought is "What are the difficulties faced by classroom teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic period?" has been determined. This study was carried out in the case study design, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The study group of the research consists of 8 classroom teachers working at the primary school level in Şahinbey and Şehitkamil districts of Gaziantep in the 2021-2022 academic year. The study group was determined using the snowball sampling method. A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool in the study. The data were analyzed with the content analysis method. Research findings indicate that most of the difficulties experienced such as lack of technological equipment, unreachable students, unhealthy home environment are due to economic reasons and that classroom teachers are caught unprepared for the pandemic period. As a result of the research, it is seen that the learning losses caused by the pandemic cause concern for the future.
