The effects of the COVID 19 pandemic on foreign trade and logistics between Turkey and the European Union: The case of Algan Intermodal and Asset companies

Logistics is considered as an important element of foreign trade. While foreign trade refers to the process of exchanging goods and services of a country with other countries, logistics includes operations such as transportation, transportation, dispatch and distribution chain management of these goods and services. It is important for foreign trade to be successful and the existence of an effective logistics system for the seller. Logistics acts as a bridge from the producer of goods and services to the consumer or from the producer to the importer. The supply chain in foreign trade includes the stages of transportation, storage, customer transactions and distribution originating from computer managers, and the logistics services in this process have a large distribution feature. The new coronavirus epidemic, which emerged in Wuhan, China's Hubei province in December 2019, has affected the whole world. Analysis of the effects of Covid 19 on foreign trade activities and the analysis of changes in Turkey's imports and exports, and their effects on shipping types were compared. Within the scope of this study, it first analyzes the consumer uses and operating costs of the COVID-19 pandemic in the logistics sector. The introduction of restrictions and the operations of quarantine measures due to the pandemic caused the interruption of logistics operations. This situation adversely affected logistics units such as assets, storage and distribution. Key words: Logistics, Covid-19, Foreign Trade.
