Examination of musculoskeletal system pain of healthcare professionals during the COVİD-19 epidemic

Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the musculoskeletal pain, fatigue levels, sleep quality, fears of COVID-19, and stress and anxiety levels of healthcare workers during the COVID-19 epidemic. 198 healthcare workers (31.79±7.13 years, 1.67±0.08 m, 23.71±3.49 kg/m2) between the ages of 20-55, who were actively working during the epidemic period, were included in the study. Fatigue levels with the Fatigue Scale, sleep quality with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, fear levels with the COVID-19 Fear Scale, Stress and Anxiety with the Virus Epidemic Stress and Anxiety Scale for Healthcare Professionals SAVE-9, Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire and Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Questionnaires were used to evaluate musculoskeletal pain. Considering the working areas of health workers, it was seen that the highest rate of work was in the intensive care unit. They stated that they felt pain, pain and discomfort mostly in the back, waist and neck regions in the last 12 months and in the last 7 days, and they were prevented from doing their usual work due to the pain. Again, respectively; It was stated that health services were applied due to low back, neck, shoulder and back pain. It was determined that there was a positive and weak correlation (r=0.390, p<0.001) between the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and the scores obtained from the Fatigue Scale. It was determined that there was a positive and weak-very weak correlation between the pain felt in the neck, shoulder, upper extremity, back, waist and lower extremities and the total scores of the Fatigue Scale, Sleep Quality, Fear of COVID-19, and SAVE-9 scale (p<0.005). ). Those who have high musculoskeletal pain in the neck, shoulders, back, left upper arm, waist, left lower leg and right foot regions during the last 1 week; fatigue levels, COVID-19 fear levels, and stress and anxiety levels are high, and sleep quality was found to be low. It is recommended to provide breathing and relaxation exercise training, to inform about ergonomic working principles in order to protect and improve spinal health, and to implement individual neuromuscular exercise programs
