Evaluation of physical education and game lessons in primary schools in the COVID-19 process according to the opinions of teachers and students (Afyonkarahisar sample)

The aim of this study is to evaluate Physical Education and Game lesson in primary schools according to teacher and student opinions during Covid-19 process. The universe of the research is composed of primary schools in the center of Afyonkarahisar province and teachers and students in these schools in the 2020-2021 academic year. Due to the pandemic, an easily accessible suitable sample was preferred. Accordingly, the study was conducted with 20 teachers and 20 students, including five students from all grade levels. In this study, which was conducted in order to evaluate physical education and game lessons in primary schools according to the opinions of teachers and students during the Covid-19 process, the phenomenology (phenomenology) pattern, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. In collecting the data, the "General Information form" prepared by the researcher and the "Physical Education and Game Lesson Student-Teacher Interview Form" consisting of six questions for students and nine questions for teachers were used. "The demographic characteristics of the teachers and students included in the Physical Education and Game Lesson Student￾Teacher Interview Form were explained using frequencies and percentages. The interview questions in the form were evaluated using one of the qualitative research methods, descriptive analysis. As a result of the study, it was determined that teachers consider physical education and gaming as a contribution to the development of games, entertainment, sports, this course is necessary, most of them do not do this course, there is a shortage of tools and equipment for this course, they cannot do it due to physical conditions, branch teachers should give this course. It has been concluded that students think of physical education and games as games, entertainment, outdoor games, sports, they like the lesson, this lesson should not be done to stay up with other lessons, other lessons are usually done instead of this lesson.
