Abstract (EN)
COVID-19 is a disease with pathogenic virus infection that emerged in Wuhan and spread rapidly in a short time. The COVID-19 virus can cause varying degrees of damage to the heart, lungs, and many other tissues. This situation brings along various health problems in the long term. In this study; in this study, it was aimed to evaluate the changes in the lipid profile of patients with hypertension caused by COVID-19 infection. In our study, patients with hypertension and COVID-19 infection who were followed up in Sanko University Sani Konukoğlu Hospital Health Application and Research Center were evaluated. The information of the patients was obtained from the information system used following the approval of the ethics committee. AKŞ, HDL, LDL, VLDL, Tg, total cholesterol, Na+, K+, creatinine, eGFR, PTZ, INR, ALT and AST values of the patients were examined before, during and after COVID-19 infection. A total of 25 adult patients, 16 male (64%) and 9 female (36%), were included in our study. The mean age of our patients was 64.08 (min:47, max:82) years. Regular increase in VLDL and Tg values before, during, and after COVID-19 infection; a regular decrease was observed in HDL, K, PTZ, and INR values, but no statistically significant difference was found. It was determined that LDL, total cholesterol, Na and creatinine values reached the lowest level during COVID-19 infection. Only a statistically significant difference was observed between the Na+ values. It was observed that ALT, AST, AKŞ and eGFR values reached the highest levels during COVID-19 infection. However, no statistically significant difference was found. As a result, COVID-19 infection affects the lipid profile of hypertension patients to a certain extent. However, statistically clear evidence could not be determined. The small number of patients is the main limitation of our study. Our work; we believe that it will guide further research on this subject. Keywords: COVID-19; hypertension; lipid profile
