Abstract (EN)
19th century, which is known as the period of communal and border disintegration for The Ottoman, is the period in which the European missionaries are the most effective. Missionaries have chosen a period of time in which the Ottoman Empire gets weaker, livelihood and living conditions get harder and the borders change. Especially in this choice, it is surprising that they have chosen the places far from the centers for social engineering and they have chosen Armenian people who are known as ?Millet-i Sadıka? Loyal Nation. As Hadjin (Saimbeyli) is one of the furthest places of Adana, socio-economic development cannot be talked about for this region. In spite of all these obstacles, missionary activities of the man and women volunteer missionaries are remarkable. The missionaries arriving in Hadjin - between their activities and their living space as a result of their devotedness to their beliefs and self-sacrifice - started training activities and the efforts of raising the awareness of the community by opening schools at different levels and house churches. These activities lasting for years formed the basis of Armenian incidents in Adana. Key words: Missionary, Hadjin, Women missionaries, Armenian incidents
