Abstract (EN)

In this study, It is aimed to examine the state of affecting the preferences of individuals using behavioral economics approaches such as, mental accounting, bad cost error, limited rationality, framing effect, lost avoidance tendency, anchoring and correction tendency, availability, effect of free benefit, herd behavior, trap effect ensure that households residing within the boundaries of Manisa province prefer more economical ones in terms of energy consumption in the purchasing stages of various electrical appliances, The population of the research consists of individuals residing in the city center of Manisa. The sample of the study was determined to be at least 384 people, and a total of 563 individuals were included in the sample group by creating an online questionnaire on the "www.surveey.com" online survey site. The convenience sampling method was used as the sampling method in the study. In the research, a questionnaire form prepared by the researcher was used as a data collection tool. The questionnaire form was prepared online, and the questionnaire link was shared with the individuals who met the sampling inclusion criteria.SPSS(?^^) 20 statistical program was used to analyze the data of the research. The distribution of demographic characteristics of the participants in the study is shown by percentage and frequency. Chi-square(Ki-kare^^) analysis was used to test the research hypotheses. Frequency and percentage were used in the analysis of the scenarios in the research and developed in accordance with the scenarios related to behavioral economy. The data of the research were analyzed at a 95% confidence level. As a result, it has been determined that behavioral economics theories of mental accounting, bad cost error, limited rationality, framing effect, loss avoidance tendency, anchoring and correction tendency, availability, free-benefit effect, herd behavior, trap effect approaches may be effective for consumers to use products with less energy consumption.
