Investigating the relationship between values and organizational justice

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between school administrators? values and organizational justice. This study investigates the relationship between values which are mostly chosen by administrators and administrators? and teachers? perception of organizational justice in their school. Today, one of the most important problems in educational organizations is that there is not satisfactory policies depend upon values and organizational justice. The most important reason of this problem is that education has not own its value system relating to this area (Karataş, 2009). Within this content, this study is important because it points out organizational culture to access general and private goals, the managerial style depending upon values and the needs to understand organizational justice within this perspective. Therefore, this study will contribute to form a value system and a concept of organizational justice in educational administration to create a sensitive atmosphere in this area.The population of the study is educational administrators and teachers of Uşak. The sample of the study is educational administrators and teachers working in Uşak. Two scales were utilized in this study. One of them is a scale named ?Values Scale? developed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kürşat YILMAZ to discover administrators? values, and the other is ?Organizational Justice Scale? developed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemil YÜCEL and the writer. ?Values Scale? is utilized to educational administrators and ?Organizational Justice Scale? is utilized both to educational administrators and teachers. With this scale, each selected school administrators will indicate their values for each of the following items to what extent it is important for them. Teacher and administrators scores the level of scale to determine the existing state about organizational justice in their school. The study seeks to determine whether the value preferences of educational administrators and the perceptions of teachers and administartors? organizational justice differ according to gender, the type of school, the level of school, the level of education. Correlation techniques are used for analyzing and with these techniques, the relationship between the type of organizational justice and values is investigated.According to the findings, educational administrators give importance to the fifth individual values such as: justice, honesty, objectiveness, respectful to others, studiousness; and give importance to the fifth organizational values such as: justice, respectful to others, studiousness, responsibility. Besides, there is a positive relationship between values and organizational justice. According to this finding, there is a positive relationship between relational values, values concerning inner concepts, values about justice and organizational justice refers to justice of interaction, justice of influence and justice of award and punishment.Key Words: Culture, Organizational Culture, Values, Organizational Justice
