Family and social environment relationships of drug addict individuals on probation precaution

Probation practice sees individuals buying, accepting and holding drugs or excitant substances for use as ones need treatment and therapy instead of to be sentenced to jail. The practice gives who got mixed up in drugs a great chance to stop using drugs by living in their family and social enviroment. The aim of this research was defined to reveal family and social environment relationships (school, work, friend) of drug addict ındividuals on probation before and after become drug addict, their probation experiences and future expectaions. Moreover, the effects of family structures, family dynamics and social enviroment on drug usage and the reasons that push the individuals to drugs were investigated. Eighteen males between the ages of 18-40 who had been sent to Batman Distcrict Public Hospital participated in the research. In this research, qualitative research method was utilized. As sampling, maximum variation sampling which is one of the purposive sampling methods used in interpretive phenomenology pattern was utilized. The findigs obtained were solved by descriptive analyssis method. In the result of research, negative changes were determined in relationships of participants with their family and social enviroment after drug usa and it was determined that the family dynamics and social enviroment effect on drug use. Also, it was seen that curiosity, wannabe, and entourage were the foremost main reasons which push participants to use drug. Moreover, it was concluded that probation practice has an positive effect on reducing or stopping drug use. Key Words: Family, family dynamics, probation system, drug addiction, qualitative research,
