Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT Objective: In this study, it is to evaluate the depression, anxiety , level and quality of life in patients who are followed up due to factor deficiency in Dicle University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology Oncology, and to determine sociodemographic and clinical risk factors that may be associated with these three areas. Materials Method: A total of 30 patients between the ages of 8-17, who were being followed up with a diagnosis of factor deficiency in Dicle University Faculty of Medicine, Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, and who did not have mental retardation affecting cognitive ability and whose parents pproved the study, were included in the study. The control group included 30 healthy children aged between 8 and 17 who had similar characteristics to the patient group in terms of age and gender distribution, and who applied to the general pediatric outpatient clinic for routine control purposes without any health problems. For depression, anxiety and quality of life, CDI (Child Depression Scale), SCAT (Child Anxiety Screening Scale), also known as KAY-BÖ (Childhood Anxiety Disorders Self-Report Scale), SCARED (Self-report for Childhood Anxiety Related Disorders) ) and Pediatric Quality of Life Scale 4.0 were applied. The SPSS V24 program was used in the statistical analysis of our study, and the scale results were compared with the "T-Test". Results: Depression and anxiety levels of the patients who were followed up due to lack of factor were found to be higher than the healthy control group, approximately 16% of the patients had depression and 40% had anxiety. The patients' quality of life was found to be significantly reduced in physical, emotional and school functionality, as well as social functionality, and the overall quality of life, which is the average of four functionality, was found to be low. School refusal anxiety was found to be high in our patients who received prophylaxis, and school functionality was found to be low. Among the sociodemographic characteristics of the patients, an increase in depression and anxiety levels and a decrease in the quality of life were found in patients whose father did not have a regular occupation and whose income level was 2500 TL and below. Our patients living in rural areas were found to have lower quality of life than those living in the city center Conclusion: Depression and anxiety levels were found to be significantly higher in our patients who were followed up due to factor deficiency compared to the control group, and their quality of life was found to be lower in three other functionalities and total quality of life, except social functionality. It is important to follow up the medical treatments of factor deficiency patients in terms of anxiety and depression and quality of life.
