Investigation of the relationship between digital parenting awareness and problematic media use in children aged 6-10

Problematic media use in children is increasing. The attitude of the parents is important in this behavior of children. This point gives rise to the concept of digital parenting awareness. Parents need to be good guides for the digital environment and teach them correct use. In the study, which used relational scanning, one of the quantitative research methods, the relationship between digital parental awareness and problematic media use in children was examined with the participation of 251 parents of children aged 6-10. Additionally, the relationship between demographic information, digital parenting awareness, and problematic media use in children was also examined. In line with the research findings, it has been observed that demographic characteristics and the digital neglect dimension examined among the sub-dimensions of parents' digital parenting awareness affect children's problematic media use behavior.
