The effect of collaborative learning techniques in distance education and grammar teaching on the student's academic success and attitude to the course

This research was conducted to examine the effects of cooperative learning method on students' academic success and attitudes towards the lesson in the 6th grade Turkish lesson. The research was carried out in two separate 6th grade branches studying at Suna Uzal Secondary School in Burdur city center. In the research in which the pretest-posttest experimental design with control group was used, the techniques of the cooperative learning method were applied in one of the classes with the lottery method, while the traditional teaching method was applied in the other class. In order to obtain the data, the Turkish Lesson Achievement Test and the Attitude Scale towards the Turkish Lesson were applied to the experimental and control groups as a pre-test and post-test. Data analysis program called SPSS21 was used in the analysis of the data. According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, a significant difference was observed in terms of academic achievement in the experimental group in which the cooperative learning method techniques were applied, compared to the control group in which the lessons were taught with the traditional method. When the attitudes of the experimental and control groups towards the Turkish lesson were examined, it was determined that only cooperative learning method techniques made a positive contribution.
