Abstract (EN)

Turbans are places known to be sacred by the people, where they are buried by people who are thought to be spiritual power and virtue. The places of visit are the form of sanctity shaped in the spatial sense. In these spaces, requests expressed by concepts like hacet, wish, desire, murat are expressed. This ritual is often exhibited in a traditional form that is either non-Islamic or not synthesized in Islamic practices. This ritual can also be expressed as practices that do not conform to the principle of religion with the concept of "folk religiosity".People's religiosity or traditional religion considers them as indispensable elements of visiting the places they regard as sacred. While a group of people who acted with a book understanding of religion saw these practices as contrary to religion's essence and criticized them in a harsh manner, and another saw these practices as fully internalized and necessity of religion. The main objective of the visit to the tomb is to reach the means of being "sacred" to what is "known as unreachable". These medieval intermediaries are undoubtedly visited places and species.Being close to the Almighty makes these places, considered sacred, a spiritual haven.Especially on the blessed days and nights of the Islamic religion, people visit these places for different purposes. Due to these characteristics, tomb visits are an important issue to be considered in terms of sociology of religion and worth investigating. In this study, it was aimed to reveal how the species are located in the spiritual worlds and social life of the people by way of the sample of Siirt Ili VeyselKarani. With the motive of VeyselKarani's inhabitants, the causes of the tomb visits, the anticipation of visit, the practices applied during the visit were discussed and sociological analyzes were made based on the field data.
