Abstract (EN)
Technology provides endless choice and convenience to human being living in today's societies but on the other hand, is unable to bring solution to their growing loneliness. While communicating by the methods that technology provides is fast becoming more popular and widely used, the inner communication of human being and his one-to-one and maskless communication with the society has become less available day by day and has made us to miss it already. I think the greatest problem of the society we live in is the communication gap between the individual and himself or herself and the society which is created by 'lack of awareness'. The main theme of the play titled 'Marriage in Deep-freeze' is based on the importance of living with awareness and communication. The play is about typical disputes in marriage. With a trouble the couple had at the third episode of the play, the sides to this 31 years of marriage Alev and Özkan started to wake up from their deep marital sleep. This awakening continues during the play and progresses toward an awareness phase. All the characters in the play get affected by the experience of Alev's and Ozkan's collapsing marriage. Together with Alev and Özkan, there also happens to be more or less changes in the thoughts of the other characters ipek, Cem and Neslihan. The dialogs of this play which I treated in a realistic manner, are rather intense. At the back ground of the stage, a Barco-Vision system was installed with the aim of retaining the interest of the audience and enriching the whole meaning by uniting words with vision. During the play, the audience periodically watch a couple dancing Tango on the Barco-Vision. As background music, some Tango melodies with tunes in various intensities, were selected. The play has twelve episodes and two parts.
