Abstract (EN)

Sun is important fort he durability of thelifecycle. Our planet needs certain amount of heat to have a life on it. The fact that sun is sorce of heat and light makes it more important.In Divan poetry, sun can be seen as variety of imaginery and similitude elements or sometimes with it sown scientific meaning.Poet usually refer sun for its brightness and warmness. In our research called 'Sun in Divan Poetry' it has been taken care to determine place, usage and features of sun based on the examples of Divan Poetry that belongs to poets from15th-16th centuries. And synonmys of 'sun' has been given a place as well as the word itself. Also, usageof these words had been searched and their similarities, differences and popularity of their usage had been mentioned. Characteristics of the Sun as a star; its place in Islam, mysticism, mytholog, and Turkish culture; its importance in religion, nature and social life; relationship with lover sand darlings in Divan Poetry has been tried to provide detailed information. The study was text centered and based on the selected couplets.Tables and figures were formed according to the number of related word detected in the selected divan. Statisical breakdowns are presented at the end of the study. Keywords: Divan poetry, fate, star, sun.
