Abstract (EN)

One of the most important points in diabetes patients is life satisfaction and eating habits. This differs according to the state of consciousness of the diabetic patient. Individuals try to complete their feelings of satiety throughout their lives, and this is an ongoing need throughout their life, and it affects people's happiness satisfaction. The aim of this study is to examine the similarities and differences between life satisfaction and eating attitudes in diabetes patients within the framework of socio-demographic variables and other sub-problems. The sample of the study consists of 198 participants, 99 female and 99 male, with diabetes, randomly selected from the population, residing in Konya. The data of the study were obtained by applying demographic questions together with the expressions of Multidimensional Diabetes Questionnaire Turkish Form, Life Satisfaction Scale and Eating Attitude Test (YTT-26). Descriptive statistics were specified in the analyzes, and firstly, internal consistency analysis was performed for the Multidimensional Diabetes, Life Satisfaction and Eating Attitude scales, and it was discussed whether there was any inconvenience in using the scales in the study. The data transferred to the computer environment were checked for missing/false values and outliers. The differences between the age, gender, education, employment status, income level, marital status and child status of the participants in the research group and the average scores obtained from the variables were discussed. In line with the findings of the study, it was determined that there was a weak positive relationship between eating attitude and life satisfaction. According to the findings obtained for the prediction of eating attitude of the multidimensional diabetes scale, it is seen that the independent variables of self-efficacy perception and result expectation perception predict eating attitude. According to the findings, it was determined that the variable that most explained the eating attitude was the perception of self-efficacy. According to the findings obtained for the multidimensional diabetes scale to predict the life satisfaction scale, it is seen that the independent variables of perception of support, perception of obstacles, and outcome expectation predict life satisfaction. According to the findings, it was determined that the variable that most explains life satisfaction is the perception of disability.
