Determination effectiveness of pheromon traps and parasitoid against Kermania pistaciella Amsel (Lepidoptera:Tineidae)'in pistachio (Pistacia vera Linnaeus) orchards of Diyarbakir

This study was carried out to determine effectiveness of pheromone traps, pupae parasitoid and parasitation rate of the cocoons of Kermania pistaciella Amsel (Lepidoptera: Tineidae),which is an important pest of pistachio, between years 2013-2014 in Cınar province of Diyarbakır. Pheromone traps were used in two pistachio orchards which has been determined as have population higher than economic damage level. Traps were first used third week of March till end of May at density of one trap for two decares area. Cocoons were counted weekly in same orchards at following year and seen the pest has a population higher than economic damage level so it has been decided that traps were not effective. Despite that the traps did not decrease the pest population; they are effective to determine monitoring and population density of the pest. First, highest and last adult emergence of the pest was 4 of April, 18 of April and 9 of May respectively. Trapped adults were observed first at 5 of April, highest trapped population was observed 26 of May and last trapped adults 17 of May. Parasitoid Dinocampus coccinellae Schrank (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) was obtained from cocoons of the pest. Parasitation rates of the pest cocoons were 39.3% and 40.2% at first and second orchards, respectively.
