Transcript and evaluation of the 6th volume of Diyarbakırlı Said Pasha's Work Named Mir'âtü'l-İber

Mir'âtü'l-İber, written by Said Pasha from Diyarbakır in the field of history, means "Mirror of Exemplars". Nine volumes of the work were printed and one volume is in the Museum Library as a manuscript. Volumes 1-5 of this work, which consists of ten volumes in total, were printed in 1304/1888, volumes 6-7 in 1305/1889, volume 8 in 1306/1890, volume 9 in 1306/1809, and these nine volumes were printed in Istanbul Karabet and Kasbâr Printing House. The transcription and evaluation of the 6th volume of the work titled Mir'âtü'l-İber written by Said Pasha from Diyarbakır is our field of study. It has become a tradition among Muslim historians to write down what happened from the creation of the first man to his own time. Said Pasha also followed this path and wrote his work called Mirâtü'l-İber using this method. The important point of this work is that in the era in which the author lived, general historical works were mostly written in Arabic. It is important that Said Pasha wrote his work in Turkish. In this work, Said Pasha wrote about the periods of Hz. Umar, Hz. Uthman, Hz. Ali, the caliphs who took office after the death of Hz. Abu Bakr. In the work where the important events of Islamic history are discussed, Said Pasha has written the events under the title of titling the events according to the place in some titles and under the title of the events that took place in that year in some titles. Our study consists of three parts. In the first part, we have given information about the life and works of the author, in the second part, we have written the transcript of the sixth volume of Mir'ât al-Iber, and in the third part, the evaluation of this work.
