Age friendly tourism in the world and in Turkey

Objective: The prominent countries in third age tourism in the world and the opportunities in Turkey will be discussed and then the potential of third age tourism will be examined. It is to examine and compare the third age tourism in Turkey and some other countries and to present criticisms for the development of old age tourism. In this study; The definition of third age tourism and its situation in world tourism are mentioned. The aim of the study is to contribute to the limited literature in the publications on third age tourism in Turkey. Material and Methods: The elderly tourism potential in Turkey and in the world will be examined and evaluations have been made by using the document analysis technique, which is widely used in qualitative research. Results: In order to eliminate the health and social problems caused by old age, cost-effective solutions such as health tourism are focused on. In the light of all these reasons, it can be said that advanced age tourism, which is one of the sub-branches of health tourism, is extremely important for all countries of the world. Health institutions with advanced technology in Turkey are more affordable in terms of cost, as well as in the field of elderly tourism with their climate and historical riches. It has the potential to become a center of attraction. Conclusion: Individuals who will realize third age tourism choose the regions they will travel to by looking at various features. These are: suitable climatic conditions, comprehensiveness and cheapness of health services, transportation opportunities to the region, etc. Number of hotels (facilities), climate, natural factors, health infrastructure, health institutions, health-related natural areas (thermal, spa, etc.). It increases the age-friendly, third age tourism positively in the world and in Turkey. Key Words: Elderly, Health Tourism, Turkey.
