Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this research is to examine parents' perceptions of children's rights. In the research, concurrent design, which is one of the mixed research designs in which quantitative and qualitative research designs are used together, was used. The study group of the research consists of the parents of children who continue their pre-school education in kindergartens and kindergartens affiliated to the Ministry of National Education (MEB) within the borders of Van province in the 2021-2022 academic year. In this context, 618 participants were reached in the quantitative dimension of the study and 70 participants in the qualitative dimension. As the data collection tool of the research; The "Parental Perception Scale on Child Rights" and "Semi-Structured Interview Form" developed by the researcher were used. Normality test was used for the analysis of quantitative data and since it was seen that the data did not show a normal distribution, Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal-Wallis H test, which are nonparametric tests, were used. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the qualitative data of the research. As a result of the research; It has been determined that the variables of age and knowledge of parents' perceptions of children's rights differ significantly, but there is no significant difference in the variables of gender, educational status, occupation and socioeconomic level, and the qualitative results support the quantitative results.
