Abu al-Lays al-Samarqandi and analysis of the hadith in his book Tanbih al-Ghafilin

Our study consists of an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction, information about the subject, followed method and the concept of takhrîj has been given. In the first chapter, Ebu'l-Lays as-Samarqandî's life, scientific personality, works and his teachers have been discussed. In the second and third chapters, the weak and fabricated hadiths of Tenbîhu'l-Ghafilin have been analyzed and evaluated. In this regrad the opinion and desion of atleased one scholor has been given. According to the information we have determined in this study, Ebu'l-Lays as-Samarqandi started his work with the subject of sincerity and dealt with moral issues as well as issues such as narration of hadīths meaningly, the rules of decency to be followed in scientific assemblies. The author, who evaluated the subjects in Tenbîhu'l-Ghafilin in the light of verses, hadiths, words of the companions and the views of later scholars, also expressed his own views on many issues. The author states that he left the chains of hadiths and used plain and simple language to spread the benefit of the work and to facilitate understanding. Some of the narrations that Ebu'l-Leys es-Samarkandi included in his work as weak and topical are mentioned both as topical and weak in the sources. In our study, we found it appropriate to give the subject/bab titles in Turkish. While scanning the hadiths, we saw that some hadiths were transmitted without proof. As a result of the study, we determined that many hadiths do not exist in hadith sources and that Abu'l-Leys es-Samarkandi included more hasan and authentic hadiths in his work.
