Abstract (EN)
The study is carried out with the decision of Rizgary Teaching Hospital in Erbil, Erbil governorate, Iraq, University Faculty of Medicine Clinical Research Ethics Committee dated Period of the Study February 1, 2021 and February 1, 2022 and followed up in the outpatient clinic older patients were followed prospectively. Patients with a history of hospitalization in the last six months, a urinary catheter or a nephrostomy catheter, and a growth in urine culture that were considered nonpathogen or in favour of contamination were not included in the study. Patients who presented with symptoms such as frequent urination, dysuria, and suprapubic pain without systemic findings were evaluated as cystitis. When patients with symptoms such as dysuria and frequent urination accompanied by systemic findings such as fever, nausea and vomiting are considered as pyelonephritis and evaluated in terms of complicating factors; UTI that developed in patients without obstruction, urolithiasis, anatomical disorder, urological pathology such as urinary stent, comorbidities such as chronic kidney failure, diabetes mellitus, malignancy, and immunosuppression was defined as uncomplicated pyelonephritis. Pyelonephritis that developed in patients with any of these factors was evaluated as complicated pyelonephritis. Sample of the study 50 blood samples from females and 50 blood samples from Men. Selection of the patients before starting the study, a patient form was prepared to be used in the evaluation of patients diagnosed with community-acquired urinary tract infection. The patients were informed and signed an informed consent form so that their data could be used. The data were obtained by interviewing the patients face to face and examining their files and medical records. The patients included in the study; demographic characteristics (age, gender, patient number, date of diagnosis), symptoms (dysuria, pollakiuria, urgency, haematuria, clouding of urine, urinary incontinence, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills-chills, altered consciousness), symptom duration was recorded. Presence of complicating factors such as pregnancy, benign prostatic hypertrophy, urolithiasis, urological intervention history, neurogenic bladder, anatomical disorder, chronic kidney disease, kidney transplantation, immunosuppression, malignancy, diabetes mellitus, neurological diseases, cardiovascular comorbidities such as hypertension, history of frequent urinary system infections The presence of risk factors for resistant microorganisms, such as a history of antibiotic use and staying in a nursing home, were recorded in the patient follow-up form.
