Iran-Israel nuclear power competition in the light of international law and reflection of the concept of soverignty on power

There are various competitions between sovereign states in the international system. One of these competitions is the nuclear competition between Iran and Israel in the Middle East. The aim of this study is to evaluate the Iran-Israel nuclear competition within the framework of international law and at the same time to examine this competition with the concepts of sovereignty and power on the basis of realist theory. For this purpose, first of all, under the title of "The Concept of the Sovereignty and its Natural Transformation" development of the concept is examined and also the connection of sovereignty with the concept of power and the realist theory that accepts the state as the main actor are emphasized. Secondly, with the title of "International Law" the change of international law with the international system and its effects on states are examined. Subsequently, under the title of "Iran-Israel Nuclear Power Situations", the nuclear activities of the two states and the reasons for the competition between them are mentioned. Then, the question of how international law and the international system approach to this competition is examined. In this context, this study is based on the hypothesis that the Israel and Iran, two important states of the Middle East, have developed programs to have nuclear power by using their sovereignty. These programs are violation of international law that limits the sovereignty of states. In this direction, while Israel realized its goal of becoming a nuclear power, without meeting the obstruction and sanctions of the international community, Iran was subject to sanctions. The reason for this is that the main actors, especially the USA, of the power-based international system have different attitudes towards countries. The following questions are included to confirm the hypothesis: To what extent does sovereignty pave the way for power? What are the benefits of the concept of nation-state to states in the international system? What kind of path do institutions of international law follow in the Iran-Israel nuclear power competition?
