The effect of using pomegranate-black carrot juice mixture with exercise on oil acids and mineral metabolism

Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the effect of exercise program applied to sedentary individuals and pomegranate-black carrot juice mixture supplements on biochemical parameters in serum and erythrocytes were investigated. 20 healthy men ages 17 to 22 participated volunteered to participate in the study. The implementation process consist of three stages. In the first phase, blood samples were taken from all participants before the experimental process was initiated by experts. In the second phase, all participants were given 60 minutes/day endurance running training for 10 days and blood samples were taken again by specialists at the end of the process. In the third phase, 20 participants were given a pomegranate juice-black carrot juice mixture (100ml/100ml) supplement and blood samples were taken together with exercise program application for 10 days. All blood samples were divided into serum and erythrocytes and the levels off fatty acids and minerals were examined. Levels of Cu, Mg, Mn, Fe and Zn minerals were determined in all samples. SPSS 22.0 package program was used in the analysis of the data obtained. Bonferroni Test was applied to identify groups with differences. Serum mineral levels were found to decrease in Exercise group Mg level compared to Control and Reinforcement groups (p<0.05). Exercise and Reinforcement groups were significantly reduced according to Control group Fe level (p<0.001). Serum biochemistry levels were found to increase in the Exercise group compared to Control group AST and ALT levels (p<0.05). Reductions in Exercise and Reinforcement groups were observed according to the level triglycerides in the Control group (p<0.05). Erythrocyte mineral levels were observed to increase in the Reinforcement group according to the Cu level of the Control group (p<0.05). The Mg level in the Exercise group was decreased compared to the Reinforcement group (p<0.05). Erythrocyte fatty acid levels were found to be lower in Control group 18:0 compared to Exercise and Reinforcement groups (p<0.01, p<0.001). Control group 18:1n9c decrease was observed in the Exercise group according to fatty acid level (p<0.05). It has been observed that pomegranate-black carrot juice mixture supplements given in individual and total fatty acids have a positive effect on the levels of fatty acids. According to our research results, we think that the pomegranate-black carrot juice mixture will make positive contributions to the literature.
