Abstract (EN)
The issue of human's freedom of will has been the subject of discussion for almost every discipline whose subject is human. Neuroscience was later included in this issue, which has occupied the agenda of philosophy and theology. The results of neuroscience have brought a different dimension to the ongoing discussions on this issue. Obtaining results that might mean that human beings do not have freedom of will has particularly led to the reaction of philosophers. With the inclusion of neuroscience in the Western world, the debate has continued between philosophy and neuroscience. In the historical process, the issue can be said to have been held within the framework of the concept of fate in Islamic Kalam. Another aspect of the issue, which started to be discussed separately afterwards, for Islamic kalam is the absolute will of Allah. In this sense, it can be said that Jabriyya does not allow human freedom of will against the absolute will of Allah. On the contrary, Mu'tazila has presented an area of absolute freedom of will for human beings. It can be asserted that Ahl al-Sunnah theologians have followed a middle course between these two sects. On the subject of freedom of will, which they deal with in the context of human actions, they generally think that Allah has the absolute will and is the creator of human actions. However, human beings have will and are responsible for their actions. Neurotheology, which tries to understand the relationship between neuroscience and theology, is a field that has gained popularity recently. In this field, which also aims to make sense of theological thoughts with neurological studies, it is thought that Ahl al-Sunnah's thoughts on will can be compared with the data revealed by neuroscience about human will. Our study that we have prepared for this purpose consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, the concepts related to will are discussed and evaluated. In the second chapter, the subject of will is examined in terms of Ahl al-Sunnah. In the third chapter, the human will in terms of neuroscience is evaluated in detail with the studies in this field. In the fourth chapter, first of all, the neurotheological context is eslablished and then, the concept of will in Ahl al-Sunnah kalam is tried to be examined in the context of neurotheology.
