Abstract (EN)

Introduction and Aim: Nowadays, mechanically reliable all-ceramic materials that meet the aesthetic expectations of patients continue their development. The aim of this study is to compare the mechanical properties of two different resin matrix ceramics produced by the subtractive production method, which is frequently used in dentistry, and the resin- containing ceramic material obtained by the recently popular additive production method, in-vitro conditions. Material and Methods: In this study, a total of 75 samples including two different resin- containing CAD/CAM blocks (Enamic, Vita, Almanya; Cerasmart, GC, Japonya) and 3D- printed ceramic (VarseoSmile Crown Plus, BEGO, Almanya) materials (n:25) were used. All samples fabricated with the dimension of 1 mm in thickness, 13.5 mm in length, 4 mm in width. The prepared samples were tested in a universal testing machine. The data were statistically analyzed using 1-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tamhane multiple comparison test. SPSS Windows version 24.0 package program was used for statistical analysis. Results: As a result of the statistical analysis, although the flexural strength of the Cerasmart material (142.86±20.99 MPa) showed the highest mean value; there is no statistically significant difference between the flexural strength of Enamic material (123.59±51.78 MPa). VarseoSmile Crown material showed the lowest flexural strength (52.38±11.73 MPa). Enamic material showed the highest flexural modulus (14.10±8.11 GPa). The lowest flexural modulus (2.60±0.24 Gpa) was observed in VarseoSmile Crown material. Cerasmart material has the highest elastic modulus (2.22±0.89 MPa). Although VarseoSmile Crown material has the lowest elastic modulus (0.55±0.22 MPa); there is no statistically significant difference between the elastic modulus of Vita Enamic material (0.57±0.19 MPa). Conclusions: Within the limitations of this in vitro study, the flexural strength of VarseoSmile Crown material was found to be significantly lower than other materials.
