Transcription of el-Bâbûsü'l-vasît fî Tercümeti'l-Kâmûsu'l-muhît'in (22/a-27/a, 73/a-92/b, 144/a-146b,153/a-183b)

Dictionaries, which reflect the vocabulary of a language in the most beautiful way, have shown itself in various fields from past to present. Dictionaries have an important place in our literature in terms of providing information about the language and culture of the period in which it was prepared besides the vocabulary of the period. Throughout history, Turks have interacted with different cultures and have felt the need to teach and learn their own languages to the nations they interact with. After adopting Islam, Turks were influenced by Arab and Persian culture. After that, dictionaries such as Arabic-Turkish and Persian-Turkish began to settle in our literature during the interaction period and were prepared and presented to the statesmen of the period in a need. The work, which was written in the 16th century by Merkezzâde Ahmed Efendi called el-Bâbûsü'l-Vasît Fî Tercümeti'l-Kâmûsu'l-Muhît It was dedicated to Kanuni Sultan Süleyman. The work which was consist 312 leaf ( 22a-27a, 73a-92b, 144a-146b, 153a-183b) transcribed into Latin letters. Our study consists of three parts. In the first part, general information about the study, historical periods from Old Turkish to Old Anatolian Turkish and tradition of lexicography are given. In the second part, information about the life and works of Merkezzâde Ahmed Efendi is given. In the third part, transcription of the work to Latin letters is done.
