The effect of electronic circuits lesson on virtual environment on the success of the students and their views according to the presentation of the project based learning method

The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of the project basedlearning (PBL) on virtual condition with the traditional method on the student?sachivement and opinions. For this experimentally planned research, we haveobtained two groups such as experimental and control group having 26 studentsin each group.This study has been designed in accordance with the pre-test and post-test and experiment and control group design. While the experiment group istaking ? Electronic Circuits? lesson on a virtual condition with project basedlearning method, the traditional method has been applied to the control group.The findings obtained in this study through the achivement test andquestionnaire indicating views are as follows:♦ There is no significant difference between post test mean scores of theexperimental and control group.♦ There is no significant difference between the achievement testmean scores of experimental and control group.♦ There is no significant difference between delayed mean scores ofthe experimental group and control group.♦ Generally there is no significant difference in the views of theexperimental group before and after applying the questionnaire indicatingopinions views.According to result of this study, it can be recommended that:♦ There is an extensive need to study how to use virtual learning ineducation more efficiently. In this sense there must specially be a study onthe project based learning and problem based learning.♦ Studies should be done about the software used by the institutions givingdistance education and method of teaching and their levels of learningthey have reached and the levels of learning in real life on retention.♦ Learning on a virtual condition can be used as an element supporting theaffinity of traditional learning. Virtual learning has been considered as analternative to tarditional learning. Studies carried out in the field of virtuallearning has an economic cost the studies to be done in this sense shouldbe supported.Key Words: Virtual Education, Project Based Learning, Internet, Problem BasedLearning, Technology.
