The contribution of the principals to the development and the innovation in industrial vocational high schools

The activities regarding the general and special purpose of the Turkish education system that have been shaped by laws and legislations is carried out by the principals of the institutions. On the other hand, fulfilling the needs that have been stemmed from the geographical, social and economic conditions within a period and keeping up with the progressive technology of educational and managerial activities can only be maintained with the developing and innovating efforts of the administrative staff. The main objective of this study is to analyze the contribution of principals in the development and the innovation of the industrial vocational high schools. This study comprises of five sections: Introduction, hypothetic framework, main findings, conclusion-discussion and finally, suggestions. The survey population has been established by teachers who are working in Industrial Vocational High Schools in Güngören, Alibeyköy, Bahçelievler and Bayrampaşa districts of Istanbul within 2013-2014 school year. The sample set is the selected 220 teachers from the corresponding population.Parametric and non-parametric analysis techniques, independent group t-test, one-way analysis of variance (Anova) and post-hoc Scheffe test were used in data evaluation with a significance level of 0.05.With this study, we aim principals of institutions (especially administrators of the industrial vocational high schools) to get an objective data from their society for making a self-assessment.
