Disabled women's participation front of working life issues: The case of Turkey

In this study, disability as of and taken together disadvantages depending on the gender aspect of being a woman is examined the concept of women with disabilities and challenges for the effective participation of disabled women in working life in Turkey investigated and tried to determine the source of these problems. While examining the employment of women with disabilities, the way disability and women are handled in the historical process and today is examined. State-run social policies for the employment of women with disabilities, entrepreneurship courses for disabled and women, and state-supported projects have been announced. While explaining the policies carried out on the employment of women with disabilities in our country, the research data of TÜİK and İŞKUR and the researches on the employment of disabled and women in the public and private sectors in our country have been evaluated together. In the study, the problems faced by women with disabilities in business life due to their dual disadvantage were revealed, and discrimination based on disability and gender was discussed in terms of its social aspect. The importance of the participation of disabled women in working life for themselves, their families and the society they live in, and the importance of the country's economy, welfare and development are emphasized.
