Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was the aim to examine the relationships between the sub-dimensions of nine types of temperament models and attachment styles by using related scales. For this purpose, demographic information form, Adult Temperament Questionnaire (Yılmaz et al., 2014) and Inventory of Experiences in Close Relationships-II (2005) developed by Fraley et al. (2000) and the validity and reliability study conducted by Selçuk et al. The study included 200 participants between the ages of 20-30, and the applications were conducted online. Independent sample t-test was used to analyze whether there were significant differences between the gender and marital status variables of the participants. The relationship between temperament types and attachment styles was examined by Pearson correlation analysis. The accuracy of the hypotheses was also tested through Pearson correlation analysis. The findings were discussed on the light of the current literature. A significant relationship was observed between Type 4 and avoidant attachment. The study conducted by Arthur (2008) confirms this finding. A significant relationship was observed between Type 5 and avoidant attachment. The findings of the study conducted by Kam (2018) are consistent with this finding. A negative relationship was observed between Type 6 and anxious attachment. This finding is inconsistent with the study conducted by Kam (2018). A positive relationship was observed between Type 7 and avoidant attachment, but no significant relationship was found between Type 7 and anxious attachment. This finding is consistent with another study that revealed a positive relationship between Type 7 and avoidant attachment (Arthur, 2008). No significant relationship was found between Type 8 and avoidant attachment. This finding is inconsistent with the findings of Arthur and Allen (2010). No significant relationship was observed between Type 9 and anxious attachment. Although this finding seems to be consistent with Arthur's (2008) study, a different method was followed in terms of the evaluation of Type 9 in the aforementioned study.
