Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between parental attachment, perceived parental attitude and psychological resilience levels in adolescents. The population of the research consists of adolescent individuals between the ages of 10-18 living in Turkey. The sample group of the research consists of 200 adolescent individuals selected by simple random sampling method. The data of the study were collected by applying the Participant Information Form, Parental Attitude Scale, Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale and Three-Dimensional Attachment Style Scales to the participants. The data were analyzed using the SPSS-24 package program. In the analysis of the data, categorical comparisons were carried out with t-Test and ANOVA analysis in independent groups, Pearson Correlation Analysis, and Regression Analysis was carried out with Linear Regression Analysis. According to the results obtained; Psychological resilience, perceived parental attitude, acceptance and concern dimension, and secure attachment levels of attachment styles of the adolescents participating in the study differed significantly according to their gender; It was found that male participants had higher levels of psychological resilience, secure attachment, and perceived parental attitude acceptance and interest. When the differentiation according to age is examined; It was observed that the psychological resilience levels of students at the primary school level were higher than those at the high school level, and the avoidant attachment and anxious/ambivalent attachment scores of those at the university level were higher than the scores of those at the primary, secondary and high school levels. Analyzes regarding the psychological autonomy dimension of perceived parental attitudes showed that the psychological autonomy dimension scores of secondary school participants were higher than those of high school students, and the psychological autonomy dimension scores of primary school participants were higher than those of university level students; It was observed that the psychological resilience total score had a moderately positive relationship with the perceived parental attitude acceptance and interest dimension, a low positive relationship with the psychological autonomy dimension, and a moderately positive relationship with the supervision sub-dimension. As a result of the analyzes conducted on the relationship between psychological resilience and attachment styles, it was determined that the total psychological resilience score had a positive, moderate relationship with the secure attachment dimension, a negative, moderate relationship with the avoidant attachment dimension, and a low negative relationship with the anxious/ambivalent attachment dimension. It was observed that there was a positive, low-intensity relationship between the acceptance and caring dimension of perceived parental attitudes and avoidant attachment styles, insecure attachment styles, and anxious/ambivalent attachment styles. The findings of the study show that individuals who perceive their parents as controlling have high levels of secure attachment, and participants who perceive high levels of acceptance and interest from their parents have high levels of avoidant attachment and anxious/ambivalent attachment. When the perceived parental attitude autonomy dimension was examined, it was seen that there was a moderate negative relationship between the autonomy dimension and avoidant attachment and anxious/ambivalent attachment. According to these results, various suggestions were made.
