Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, the strategies followed during making Turkish of the scientific language within the translation activity carried out in the Old Anatolian Turkish period are mentioned. Most of the Turkish scientific works written in that period belong to the field of medicine and are translations. Most of this translation also was made from Arabic. Based on this, the study is based on three important medical works, including in Tercüme-i Müfredât-ı İbni Baytâr, Tercüme-i Tıbb-ı Nebevî and Tercüme-i Kâmilü's-Sinâ'a and medical terms in them compiled correlatively the terms of the source works. Thereafter, in the light of the classification of the translation strategies selected and designed in the study, the strategies used in the translation of the terms were determined at the macro and micro level. As a result of the statistical analysis on this, although different strategies were used from work to work in the translation of terms, it was found that using more than one strategy together at the micro level was generally preferred. At the macro level, the localization of terms was made to a large extent. Within this localization study, full Making Turkish was achieved with a rate of 63%. Therefore, as a result of the examination made on the basis of three works belonging to the mentioned period, it can be said that the Making Turkish of the language of science was done considerable successfully.
