Espionage cases in the Eskisehir Independence Court

The Independence Courts, which served between 1920-1927 and left their mark on a period, were established by giving special powers during the years of National Struggle and the first years of the Republican History. The Independence Courts of Eskişehir, which was founded in the First Term of the Independence Courts, played an important role in the success of the Turkish Revolution. As a matter of fact, due to it close proximity to the war fronts and Istanbul, Eskişehir and it environs became a place of hangout for the escaped soldiers and spies passing from Istanbul to Anatolia. This environment would also ease the burden of the Independence Court, the Ankara government and the Grand National Assembly. As a result of the decision of the Grand National Assembly, Eskişehir Independence Court was established on October 20. 1920. In this study, we will give some important information about Eskişehir Independence Courts and explain them using basic sources about the proceedings in this process.
