Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the presence and the level of symptoms of somatization in married and unmarried women. The samples of this study consisted 50 unmarried and 50 married women who live in İstanbul and selected by random method. SCL-90-R Psychiatric Symptoms Scaning Inventory and Somatosensory Amplification Scale were used as data collection technique. At the same time, a Personal Information Form has been created by the researcher for determining the socio-demographic characteristics of participants of the survey. As a result of this research is determined associated with educational level and somatization symptoms, primary and high school graduate's somatization levels were found to be significantly higher than the other people (p=0.04). Also presence of certain health problems of people was found effective on somatization symptoms. Accordingly somatization levels in people who has medical health problems is significantly higher than the other people (p=0.002). Subscale of 9 levels each of Psychiatric Symptoms Scaning Inventory people receive with scores from Somatosensory Amplification Scale was observed shows evidence of correlation. Accordingly, a person received score higher up from subscale also a person received score is increased. From scale Somatosensory Amplification Scale and in search of a significant relationship. There wasn't found a significant result according to other socio-demographic characteristics that featured in the survey. Key Words : Somatization, married, unmarried, women
