Abstract (EN)

In this research, a survey was conducted with 350 married individuals, both men and women, aged between 18-45 years, regardless of the city they reside, to examine the relationship between sexual satisfaction and marital adjustment with self-esteem in married individuals. In order to measure the variables of the research, the Golombok-Rust Sexual Satisfaction Scale, the Couple Adjustment Scale and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale were applied online to the individuals. In the study, it was aimed to reveal to what extent the self-esteem variable affects the relationship between marital adjustment and sexual satisfaction and to reveal the correlation between the variables. Since the previous studies in the literature were limited with a relatively low sample size, the current study increased the sample size and reached individuals from many geographical regions and revealed significant relationships between these variables. In line with the research findings, significant relationships were found between marital adjustment and self-esteem in adult individuals, and it was concluded that sexual satisfaction levels of men and women were associated with a low level of marital adjustment. In this way, it was thought that it would be beneficial for science to discuss the findings obtained by drawing attention to the role of sociodemographic variables together with self-esteem in marital adjustment and sexual life of married individuals in the context of designed hypotheses.
