Comparison of women married under 20 years old and over 20 years old in terms of their life satisfaction, marital adjustment, and sexual satisfaction

The purpose of this study is to show the relationship between life satisfaction, marital adjustment, and sexual satisfaction of women who married under 20 years old and over 20 years old. In addition, the research investigated the effects of the variables such as age, education, income levels, marriage age, and employment status of women on life satisfaction, marital adjustment, and sexual satisfaction. Participants are the women living in Istanbul. At the same time, Marital Adjustment Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale and Golombok Rust Sexual Satisfaction Scale were administered to measure the Personal Information Form and variables in order to learn the demographic characteristics of women. Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis Tests and Spearman Correlation Analysis were used in the analysis of the obtained data. According to the socio-demographic characteristics of the survey; marital adjustment and life satisfaction levels are decreasing as the age of the women increase who have married at the age of 20 years or younger, the sexual satisfaction levels are increasing as the age of the women increase who have married at the age of 20 years or younger, the level of life satisfaction increases as the level of marriage adjustment increases for women who have married at the age of 20 years or younger, the level of life satisfaction increases as the level of marriage adjustment increases for women who have married at the age of 20 years or older. Also; the level of life satisfaction of women who have married at the age of 20 years or older is higher than the level of life satisfaction of women who have married at the age of 20 years or younger. In the discussion section at the end of the research, suggestions were made for psychological counselors working on the field and on the basis of findings.
