Abstract (EN)

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to determine the effective mutation dose of Aralia japonica Thunb, Arbutus unedo L. and Ruscus hypoglossum L. species. Materials and Methods: The cuttings of A. japonica Thunb., A. unedo L. and Ruscus hypoglossum L. species were taken in December 2019, then irradiated at the Turkish Atomic Energy Agency in the dose range of 0 – 90 Gy. The cuttings subjected to irradiation were tried to be rooted in peat + perlite and paper pots. Results: In the study, it was observed that Arbutus unedo had problems with rooting also it was highly affected by irradiation. In Aralia japonica, it was observed that the plants rooted and gave new leaves nevertheless did not give new shoots. Preferentially in Ruscus hypoglossum L., the ability of the plants to shoot continued, however it showed slower development compared to the control group. Conclusion: In this study, the EMD dose value of 22.78 Gy was determined according to the rooting rate for Aralia japonica, and the dose value of 13.31 Gy for Ruscus hypoglossum L. It was concluded that different studies are needed to determine the EMD value in Arbutus unedo L. species.
