Investigation of the association between facebook connect strategies and academic procrastination behavior of adolescents to ongoing different high schools

The aim of this research is examination the relationship between on going different High school adolescents connection the Facebook strategies with the academic procrastination behaviors in Başakşehir sample. This study was made for three high school in 2014-2015 Academic year. These high schools are Kayaşehir Anatolian High School, Başakşehir Professinal and Techinal Anatolian High School, Celalettin Okten Imam Hatip Anatolian High School in İstanbul. Totaly 450 students, including 9th,10th,11th students, participate in this study. The research data was collected by Facebook connection strategies scale, Academic procrastination scale, Personal Information Form. Statictical Package fort he social sciences 15,0 was used for purpase of making statictical analysis of the data do tained of the research. Findings relating to the general structure of group's revealed with frequancy and percentage value. Academic average and standart deviation were used for determining the level of students in 'Connecting Facebook strategies and Academic Procrastination scale.' The research work is dependent variable in the next nine problem is students academic procrastination score significantly differentiating according to the sociodemographic points of differantation is made in order to determine whether the analysis in the selection of the number of normal distribution and variable of category take in into account. If the distributions are normal indepent groups prefer + test, if not analysis of the Mannwhitney -4 are preferred by where the number of category 2. Where the number of category 3, the distribution is normal analysis of ANNOVA preferred. In causes where it makes sense fort he outcome of the analysis of variance ANNOVA of homogeneity is homogeneous of all audited varience identified thus in this cases in order to detect the source of different scheffe analysis preferred. In cases whre the number of categories at least three, but distribution is not normal analysis of Kruskall Wallis was preferred. In cases where the analysis result is meaningful, Mannwhitney U is used for determining the source of difference. Facebook connect strategies scale and a significant relationship between academic procrastination scale scores to determine whether the analysis was stil in distribution of regular and on the assumption that if distribution is normal (N>30)analysis of Pearson Correlation was preferred. Significant difference has been found in academic procrastination by frequency of using Facebook account of sample from the group of students' it is also found that students' academic procrastination scale score differ according to the purpose of the using Facebook. When the gender variety was examined, it is seen academic procrastination of boys were higher. When we examine according to High School Types, no meaningful difference is found. When we examine according to class level between 9th and 11th grades, meaningful difference is found for 11th grades. Student who ditect their academic achievement low, their academic procrastination scores are higher then students who detect their academic achievement is high. When marital status of parents'is examined, there is no meaningful difference found. When the education level of mother examined, the more increases the academic procrastination of students. When we examine the education level of father, except from who never goes to school, the more increases the father education level, the more increases the academic procrastination of students. No meaningful difference is found in economical status. Finally, it was observed that Facebook Connect strategies and starting search for information at a scale of higher scores of students committed information search score rises.
