Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of vermicompost extracts that obtained using different buffer solutions on pepper growth was tested in greenhouse conditions. Vermicompost extracts were applied either to foliar, to soil or both in addition to conventional fertilization, and the effects of these applications on plant growth and nutrient uptake were investigated. When the yield values were examined, it was seen that the highest value was found in the extract taken with tap water as 219 g plant-1 (p <0.05). Although there was no difference between the application methods, all of them increased yield compared to the control. When the yield values were examined in the context of interactions, it was found that the highest value was found in leaf application of extract taken with tap water. While the applications were not effective on the dry weight and plant diameter of the plant, it had a decreasing effect on the plant height; all applications caused reduction on the plant height compared to the control. Nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium concentrations were not influenced from the extraction solutions used. Among the application methods, the highest values were determined in foliar and soil + foliar applications in terms of nitrogen. Phosphorus values were higher than the control in all application methods. The highest value in term of calcium content was in control application. Iron concentration of the plant was found to be highest in the extract taken by tap water, but no difference was observed between the application methods. In zinc concentration, no difference was found between the extracts, but higher results were obtained from foliar application. Phenological observations have shown that acid-buffered solvent cause necrotic areas in the fruits and leaves of the plant. Thus, the lower values were obtained in many parameters in the applications of extract taken by acidic solution. In general, the best extraction agent was found to be tap water.
