Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the readiness of the science students who are studying in the 1 th through 4 th grades in terms of the level of the knowledge of the chemistry they learn with their daily lives and their attitudes towards the daily-life chemistry. There were 208 students from Firat University and 171 students from Siirt University, 379 students in total. The study group consisted of 280 female students and 99 male students. In the study, Daily Events Explanatory Test (DEET), consisting of 14 questionspreparedby Ay (2008) and The Daily Life Chemistry Attitude Scale (DLCAS), a 5-Likert-type scaleconsisting of 25 questionswaspreparedby Koçak (2011), wereused. The obtaineddataswereanalyzedstatisticallybyparametric (t-test, ANOVA) and non parametrictests (Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney U Test). As a result of these analyzes, it wasobservedthattherewas a significantrelationshipbetweenthelevel of disclosure of events in everyday life and the attitudes towards daily life chemistry mean while teacher candidates in general areveryinadequate in explainingtheevents in daily life and have misconceptions. Furthermore, when the DEET results are analyzed according to sub-variables; gender, the university that they studied, and their grade level. No statistically significant difference was found in other sub-variables. When DLCAS results are analyzed according to sub-variables; there was a statistically significant difference in terms of gender and class level and there was a limited difference between daily use of internet periods and attitudes towards daily life chemistry. No statistically significant difference was found in other sub-variables. Finally, there was a positive and significant relationship between DEET results and DLCAS results. Discussions and suggestions are presented within the scope of studies on findings.
