Abstract (EN)

Abstract:The aim of this study is to investiage the students' achievement and behavior about water and laboratory activities to create water awarenessand environmental awareness. The sample of the study consists of 3rd grade students studying in Kastamonu University Science Teaching Department. The 46 students who participated in this research were divided into two groups as 22 from the experimental group and 24 from the control group. All information about water concept and water analysis was given to the students in the control group by using narrative method. In the experimental group, water analysis was carried out with water analysis methods such as titration, colorimetric analysis and UV-Vis absorption spectrometry. Water Awareness Test was developed by using Test Analysis Program (TAP) to measure the success level of the groups. In this study, Water Awareness Test and Water Consumption Behavior Scale were used as a measurement tool. The change in achievement level and behavior was evaluated with SPSS program. As a result of this study, it was observed that laboratory activities improve students' cognitive learning processes. When the success of the experiment and control groups are examined, it is seen that the results of the experiment group. The scores of the students in the experimental group from the Water Awareness Test and Water Consumption Behavior Scale increased positively.
