Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY This research was conducted with 10 of the 14 soccer teams in the fourth group of the Third Turkish professional soccer league. Total of 194 players, An kara Demirspor (17), Aksarayspor (19), Adana Kozanspor (20), Kayseri Büyükşchir Be lediye Erciyesspor (20), Kırıkkale Belediyespor (19), Kayseri Kocasinan Belediyespor (19), Ankara Köyhizmetlerispor (21), Tarsus Idmanyurduspor (20), Niğdespor (18), An kara Belediyespor (17) participated in the study. The purpose of the study was to investigate the physical and physiological profiles of the soccer players, the comparisons were made between the teams and the players' according to their positions The relationships were also made between the physical and physiological profiles of the teams and their ranks formed at the end of the league. The means of the physical and physiological parameters measured in 194 soccer players who participated in the study were found to be as follows: age 23.78±3.94 years, height 1.77±0.06 m, weight 71.46±5.62 kg, right hand grip 42.99±6.68 kg, left hand grip 41.41±6.56 kg, body fat 8.78±2.61 %, anaerobic power 109.61±11.93 kg-m/s, 50 yard speed 5.42±0.27 s, aerobic power 49.9414.33 ml/kg/min and vital capacity 5153.09±600.62 ml. While there were no significant differences between the teams in terms of age, height and weight (p>0.05), significant differences were found between teams in terms of left hand grip, right hand grip, % body fat, anaerobic power, 50-yard speed, aerobic power and vital capacity (p<0.05). The ranks achieved by the teams at the end of the league had correlations with age (r=.15), weight (r=.14), right hand grip (r= -.34), left hand grip (r= -.29), % body fat (r=.30), anaerobic power (r= -.32), 50-yard speed (r=.27), and vital capacity (r=.15). However, the ranking had no correlation with height and aerobic power. The soccer players had a distribution of 21 goal keepers, 60 defenders, 66 midfield players and 47 forwards. In terms of the parameters investigated in the study, height, weight, anaerobic power, 50-yard speed, aerobic power and vital capacity differed according to the position of the players (p<0.05), where as age, left hand grip, right liand grip and the % body fat did not differ significantly (p>0.05).
