Abstract (EN)
In todays world, football is both a way of entertainment and an ever-growing market. Broadcasting and advertisement revenues, sponsorship deals, revenues from games and licenced products, transfer fees, player's salary and agent payments show that football has become an industry. Financial growth in global football had to came with some regulations called financial fairplay to keep a fair competitive market. This has made it more important for football clubs to keep their financial structure in order and increase their revenues. Under these regulations, even some Turkish clubs had been fined to different degrees and banned from some international tournaments. In this thesis, we worked on finding ways to increase revenues for football clubs in Turkish Super League and a model of revenue management which is starting to find its way into football in recent times, had been implemented. Within this research, attendance rates of the home games of Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş in the last five seasons and possible factors that might affect these rates had been examined and analyzed. Furthermore, we decided to apply EMSR-b model which is a widely used single resource capacity control technique to a data set to increase revenues when attendency rates remain unchanged. After modelling, we have come to a conclusion that gate revenues for football clubs might be increased by using revenue management approach to make smart capacity-price assigments.
