Abstract (EN)

Currently, effective treatment of acute lung injury (ALI-Acute Lung Injury) is still limited. Because of the high mortality and morbidity levels in ALI and ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome), it is important to prevent acute lung injury at the very begining. Therefore, prevention of ALI/ARDS becomes more important. It has become a priority to reduce both the mortality and morbidity of ARDS and the high cost of treatment with effective medication before ARDS occurs by identifying the patients in the risk group where ARDS can be prevented. When the pathophysiology of ALI/ARDS was examined, it was observed that it developed as a result of a series of inflammatory responses. Since studies have shown that G1 (G protein-coupled estrogen receptor agonist) suppresses inflammation regardless of gender, this study examined the effect of G1 on the prevention of ALI/ARDS. In the study, 5 groups were formed using 46 Wistar Albino rats (23 females-23 males). Except for the DMSO (Dimethylsulfoxide) control group, the groups consisted of 10 rats, 5 females + 5 males. In the DMSO control group, a total of 6 rats, 3 females + 3 males, were used. Thirty minutes after the treatment and antagonist group was given intraperitoneally G1 and G1+G15 (the antagonist of G1), oleic acid was given using the tail vein to determine whether ALI/ARDS occurred. Lung tissue sampling from rats and blood samples for malondialdehyde (MDA), myeloperoxidase (MPO) were examined. and Interleukin-6(IL-6) levels were measured. When the results were examined, the effect of oleic acid on ARDS was found to be decreased in the groups given G1 histopathologically, and there was a significant difference between the group given only oleic acid. Biochemically, the MDA levels in the group given G1 was significantly lower than the group in which ARDS was induced with oleic acid, and no significant difference was found in IL-6 and MPO. As a result of the study, we determined that G1 prevents lung damage caused by oleic acid. Keywords: ALI/ARDS, G1, Oleic Acid
