God as a being of will in the thought system of Ghazâlî

The concept of will is a subject that have causedcontroversy among philosophers and theologians about whether or not to be attributed to Allah. The source of the problem is based on the god-universe relationship. For philospohers who explain the relationship between god and universe with "sudur theory" the will is an adjective, in the form of time between the universe and god which is unacceptable, on the other side for theologists who accept temporally creation, the will is an obligatory adjective and they see no problem in entering time between god and the universe. The aim of this study is to examine the meaning of the concept and the aspects of the conflict, along with the tradition of Ghazal's kalam and his studies on philosophy traditions and to examine how he developed the theory of God as the existence of will.
