Gaziantep folk medicine (central)

Humanbeing has tried to find solutions for illnesses for ages. As a result of the experiences from the treatmants, the cultural constituon called ?folk medicine? was born. In Gaziantep, you can see many applications related to Turkish folk medicine. People practised different applications in order to protect their health. From the past to the present, the society of Gaziantep has tried to find remedy for illnesses with the methods of public medicine and they have gone to tombs, spa, herb and spice sellers. At the present day, the usage of herbal products has increased. The very good indication of this may be the explasion of television programs related to herbs. The social and education state of people, who apply to folk medicine, is different. Such reasons as not being able to find a remedy from medicine, seeing the folk medicine as a remedy, culture or belief have directed people to folk medicine. In this context, our study has included the practises carried in folk medicine in Gaziantep.
