Abstract (EN)

This study was aimed to examine breastfeeding self-efficacy in pregnant women. İt is a descriptive and cross-sectional study. The research was carried cut on pregnant women who applied to SANKO Unıverstiy Sani Konukoğlu Practice and Research Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic in Gaziantep. The research was carried out between October 2019- June 2020. The data of the study were collected between October 2019 and March 2020. The sample of the study was 330 pregnant women who applied to SANKO Unıversity Sani Konukoğlu Practice and Research Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Outpatient Clinic. ('Personel Information Form' and Prenatal (Prenatal: Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale') were used to collect. SPPS 23 package program was used in the analysis of the data. Aritmetic mean standart deviation, t-test and one-way ANOVA test were used to evaluate the data. In the study, it was determined that approximately %70 of pregnant women were under the age of 30. It has been observed that approximately half of the pregnant women have unıversity education and %82.7 have higher education. Breastfeeding self-efficacy of pregnant women was found to be above the middle. It has been determined that the education level, ages, number of pregnancies and monthly income status of pregnant women affect breast self-efficacy. It has been determined that the breastfeeding self-efficacy of the pregnant women in the 30-34 age group who have unıversity education and above, who have a second pregnancy and whose monthly income is more than their monthly expenses, is higher than the others. It has been suggested that all pregnant women should be trained to increase their breastfeeding self-efficacy, especially for pregnant women with a low level of education and low income.
