Impact of Syrian nationalists under temporary protection status on the housing market: Diyarbakır province

Our country is trying to fulfill the responsibility it has inherited from history and the past by hosting approximately 5 million immigrants, including those who came through regular migration. A significant portion of these immigrants are Syrian nationals under temporary protection. The acquisition of real estate by foreigners in our country is subject to certain legal regulations, as in every country. In this study, we tried to understand the effects of Syrian nationals on housing markets by discussing the legal infrastructure regarding the acquisition of real estate by foreigners, whether they are Syrian nationals or not, and by analyzing the survey data we applied to 469 people, and to reach a meaningful conclusion by considering the literature review and the survey data together. The findings obtained show that the migration mobility of Syrian nationals has a significant effect on housing rental prices, but it does not have a significant effect on housing sales prices, on the other hand, it reveals that there are areas that need to be improved and regulated in many socio-economic/cultural/legal issues, especially housing and living conditions.
